Our design is deeply rooted in the local heritage of Alberta, aiming to foster a sense of community and
connection. We have incorporated local artwork that narrates the area’s history, featuring landscapes and
imagery of mountains, grain fields, and oil rigs.
Our design approach is focused on creating universally accessible spaces that go above and beyond
minimum standards, meeting the needs of end users with disabilities and diverse backgrounds. The
client’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion was a driving force behind this project.
In Riverwalk’s memory care interiors, we prioritized safety above all. Our soft color palettes of subtle blues
and warm neutrals create a calming atmosphere, while gentle lighting minimizes shadows, reducing
disorientation. Textured fabrics, familiar materials, and furniture styling evoke a sense of familiarity and
home, providing a comforting environment for residents with cognitive needs.
With the integration of a theatre, reading corners, and games rooms, the residents are given choices to feel
independent while also encouraging social engagement with other residents, creating a community.

Riverwalk’s communal kitchens host cooking classes. This could be grandparents teaching grandchildren
family recipes or providing the opportunity for residents to learn something new. The classes foster
connections and activities of daily living, bringing guests and families together and promoting common
shared experiences.
The dining rooms in this retirement residence cater to diverse tastes. The formal dining room features linen-clad tables and candlelight. Casual brunches spill onto the terrace and into the adjacent bistro, where residents can choose their culinary adventures.
Bar areas, including a wine-tasting room, invite residents to savour the wine. Chic seating clusters, velvet
sofas, and tufted ottomans make Riverwalk a cultural hub that celebrates life’s moments.

Riverwalk’s interior design harmonizes aesthetics, functionality, and emotional well-being. It’s a testament
to our commitment to creating spaces where residents thrive and connect.
