Education

ARIDO recognizes interior design education programs at Ontario universities and colleges through ongoing involvement with these institutions, their students and graduates.

Several ARIDO-recognized programs are also accredited by CIDA, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. The Council provides the foundation for excellence in the interior design profession by setting standards for education and accrediting academic programs that meet those standards.

A CIDQ accredited degree is currently the minimum recognized level of education for interior design in Canada and is currently recognized by most provincial jurisdictions.

Alternative Pathways

Candidate for membership who do not possess a CIDA accredited degree or who are internationally trained, can still qualify to meet the minimum education standard. Learn more about ARIDO's Alternative Pathway (ICRS) which provides a way for individuals without a CIDA degree to join the association.
