Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide my approach to design. With over a decade of experience in Corporate Design, I prioritize creating spaces that ensure safety—not only in compliance with life safety and building codes but also in fostering psychological well-being. My objective is to design environments that are welcoming to all employees, clients, and visitors.
My completion of the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Training Course has significantly broadened my understanding of accessibility issues and my 'lens' in which I view the constructed world. This training has enhanced my awareness of the diverse challenges faced by individuals with disabilities beyond mobility impairments, including those who are hard of hearing, visually impaired, neurodivergent or living with various mental health conditions. The insights gained from this course serve as valuable tools in my commitment to Universal Design.
Recognizing that the average Canadian spends more than one-third of their life at work, I strive to create inspiring and inclusive environments that promote collaboration across departments, foster unity among staff, and support individual purpose. My goal is to design spaces where employees can thrive, socialize, and find fulfillment in their work.
