BID Projects – OCAD
For the third year in a row, ARIDO would like to celebrate the class of 2022 from Ontario ARIDO-recognized schools and ensure their work is shared within the ARIDO community and beyond.
ARIDO has worked with these schools to promote a selection of 4th year BID student work on BLOG//ARIDO and will be posting the work each Wednesday during May and June.
Wenjia Lyu – A life theatre: Co-live & co-work with Gen-Z
The concept of theatre indicates a place with characters, and audiences, while the metaphor “catwalk” reinforces the idea of being seen and showcasing each individual’s diversity. The audiences, therefore, are the public, other generations who potentially work/live with Gen-Z, now have a chance to watch and interact with Gen-Z’s life. There will be “front stage” and “backstage” representing the public area and private area.

Xi-Kang – Asian Culture Hub
As the way of communication developed, cultural integration becomes an unavoidable trend. Thus, stereotyping needs to disappear for a better understanding of cultural appreciation. The culture community center, therefore, can play a very important role by supporting both the Asian communities as well as the original Toronto community.
The concept of the design is inclusion. The proposed space will become a place for people to experience culture from an objective perspective, so as to avoid or eliminate the prejudice caused by misleading information while creating an open and equal environment that helps people build social connections.
