Interns Who Plan to Complete The NCIDQ Exams
Members who plan to carry out interior design services in the United States or those who plan to obtain an MID degree in order to teach may wish to take the NCIDQ exams. . Successfully passing the NCIDQ examinations along with meeting ARIDO’s requirements for education and supervised work experience will qualify for application for Registered membership with ARIDO. Maintaining NCIDQ certification annually once the exams are passed is not a requirement for maintaining Registered membership with ARIDO or to practice in Ontario.
CIDQ’s requirements for education and experience must be met in order to register for the NCIDQ exams and for CIDQ to grant NCIDQ certification for those who intend to pursue it.
If you wish to write the be NCIDQ exams, it is recommended that you also maintain a record of supervised work experience using CIDQ’s Reporting Form in order to meet CIDQ’s requirements for supervised work experience. Please refer to CIDQ for information at www.cidq.org.
ICRS and the IDER Path-NCIDQ Exam Eligibility
Intern members who completed the ICRS process to qualify their education to meet ARIDO’s education requirement will then complete the IDER Report to track their supervised work experience to qualify to write ARIDO’s exam alternative (EAP).
If an Intern member via ICRS would like to complete the NCIDQ exams instead, this is an option however they must meet CIDQ’s requirements for education and experience in order to register to write the NCIDQ exams. This may require meeting additional requirements as mandated by CIDQ.
