Michael Zacks, Director of the Office of the Employer Adviser explains some of the misconceptions about the WSIB and proper registration of designer's qualifications in this article, 'Through the WSIB Rabbit Hole'

It all started with a simple, innocent phone call. For years an interior designer had obtained letters from the WSIB confirming that it didn’t need to be registered. The designer called the WSIB in 2017 to obtain a similar letter but this time instead of a letter it got a bill for several thousand dollars, and a ruling that the designer was now engaged in construction project management.
