Call for Community Ambassadors!
Furniture Bank is a charity and social enterprise that collects gently used furniture from the community and transfers them to families transitioning out of homelessness or displacement.
Furniture Bank has a goal to end furniture poverty and ensure that all good gently, used furniture go to a new home of someone who desperately needs it and not into landfill. This means spreading awareness throughout the community and beyond so that the term ‘furniture bank’ will become as well known and accepted as a food bank.
This is where ARIDO members come in!
Join us Monday, December 3 at 8 a.m. at Furniture Bank (25 Connell Ct., Unit 1, Toronto, ON M8Z 1E8) for coffee and breakfast treats, and learn about how you can help end furniture poverty and support those in your community who need a helping hand. Opportunities to support furniture bank include diverting used furniture, working with clients, refinishing gently used furniture, and other opportunities will be presented to those interested in supporting Furniture Bank in the future.
Furniture Bank is critically low on housewares to give to their clients! If you have extra dishes, pots and pans, or cutlery in good condition, please bring them along and help a local family get back on their feet.
Contact Roberta Diachok rdiachok(at)savills.ca to RSVP, or contact Melissa Tossell, Owner/Principal mtossell(at)sanuradesign.ca if you are unable to attend on the 3rd and would like to volunteer.
