CEU No. 1 - Accessible Design in Ontario – The OBC and Beyond

Ontario’s plan is to make the province more accessible by 2025. As a Building Code and Accessibility Consultant, the team at Jensen Hughes is focused on understanding and interpreting these requirements and how they apply to new and existing buildings throughout the province. This CEU provides an overview of the accessibility requirements applicable in Ontario, with a focus on those items critical to interior designers such as washroom design and the application of the accessibility codes and standards in building retrofit. The presentation will focus on the Ontario Building Code requirements, as well as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act as it relates to the built-environment.

CEU No. 2 - New Metrics of Place

Traditional workplaces don’t support the way people actually work today. To find out what kind of workplace designs do, Herman Miller is studying progressive work environments around the world. This CEU summarizes the findings of that research so far, including six emerging patterns of use and associated metrics that organizations can draw on to create, measure, and manage high-performing work environments that empower people to do their best work.
