February is Black History Month

  • Published on: Feb 05, 2024

February is Black History Month, and ARIDO is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of Black Canadians, both past and present.

Join us in paying tribute to the diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and histories of Black individuals and communities. In February, we proudly observe Black History Month, a time to honor and celebrate the profound impact of Black individuals throughout history.

This month provides an opportunity to recognize the rich heritage, resilience, and diverse contributions of Black communities.

Here's how you can show your support:

Support black-owned businesses & charities in your community:
Explore black-owned businesses: Black Business Direct
Contribute to black-led charities: CanadaHelps

Learn and explore black history:
Dive into Black History @ Archives of Ontario: Archives of Ontario
Read 40 Books by Black Canadians: CBC Books

Celebrate:
Explore Black History Month @ the AGO: AGO Events
Join the Black History Month Celebration, Carnival Edition: Eventbrite

Throughout the month, if you're participating in any event or want to acknowledge a black-owned business, share the link using #ARIDOAwareness, and we'll be sure to spread the word.

Stay tuned to see what else we can do as an ARIDO community to support Black businesses. Our EDAA Foundation committee is actively building a diversified supplier list. Together, let's make a positive impact and foster a more inclusive and vibrant community.
