Access to research material, maximize natural light, and allow for changes in technology were also identified as priorities. The design team developed their concept around the clean open shell of the MaRS office space with three sides of 13 ft tall exterior glazing, dotting open concept lounges around the perimeter. At the centre of the space, the team placed a café with various seating options, and pantry storage, as a vital collaboration hub.
